For those that may have missed the show...Doctor Beverly Crusher's madien name is Howard.
Now that she's staged a coo and over thrown the Empire...she has taken back her grandmothers last name...sure it's a man's name but it was her grandmothers...and that comes first.
as for the bottom phrase...Empress Howard is very 'grounded' in her beliefs that women have been kept down, beat down, violated and in many cases killed because women were viewed as weak.
That will change.
And no she will dominate...she will rule....men dominate.

Now this was an angle that I wasn't expecting or one that was mentioned when we were talking. After thinking about it for a minute or two it makes perfect sense though. Women have been subjugated and lorded over for Centuries and now that they are in charge they would want their measure of payback. Being relegated to breeding stock is a serious blow to a mans status and although not a slave since they would be assessable to all women at any time, it does do a number on their self esteem, and sense of status they would have had before the change of power. The pose is a big part of this image and you have really hit it here, she has a very humble appearance and is wearing something simple to accentuate that she is ruling not dominating her subjects. I was picturing something vastly different from this image and I am pleasantly disappointed that it was nowhere near to what I was expecting. Way to keep me on my toes.
